TROPLINKS

TropLinks is an independent, not for profit incorporated association formed in 2009.  It is not a government body but will be supported by government funding for the next 3 years and must be self-sustaining after that period.  Queensland, Northern Territory and Western Australia are collaborating in this north Australia initiative which will have international linkages.

The Association is membership based and includes business and industry groups, research bodies, educational institutions and individuals.   TropLinks is governed by a Board representing diverse interests.

TropLinks Vision:  to grow the tropical economy of Australia

Mission statement:  TropLinks will maximise the capacity to develop, commercialise and export Tropical Expertise in:

  • Tropical Environmental Services
  • Tropical Agriculture
  • Tropical Health
  • Tropical Living (including built environment, education, tourism, services to mining)

TropLinks will seek to be involved in aid/development funded projects and commercial opportunities with a focus on PNG, South East Asia and the northern and southern Pacific.  Funding will also come from developed economies for commercialisation of innovative projects.  Philanthropic and research funding will also be sourced.

TropLinks is all about linkages, partnerships and collaboration.  It is a north Australian iniative aimed at establishing greater national and international linkages.  Read more: www.troplinks.com
